M.I.S.S.
(Music
Image Sofa System)
Design: Philippe Starck (2004)
An elegant sofa that
discreetly houses an A/V system. The M.I.S.S. is made up of two parts – the
sofa itself and a cabinet which houses certain components, the screen, and
a flat wire linking feature. The sofa has speaker and sub-woofer compartments.
A console with a retractable compartment can house a projector that is then
raised up for use.

Two
seat depths and two arm widths are available, and many configurations can be
achieved. Choose either feather or Dacron cushions for comfort.
An optional wengé tablet arm comes outfitted with the Archimoon Soft
lamp. Facing the sofa is the housing more speakers, the audio-video system,
and the projection surface.
This tall unit may also be used as a freestanding partition with additional
storage in the back. A flat plasma TV may be used on the base cabinet,
forgoing
the screen, for a lower solution. Connections between the sofa and cabinet
are made via flat wiring under a rug. The components and the wiring are
elegantly
hidden away but easily accessible.
